The Literature Festival begins in a few weeks time and once again the team at Cheltenham Festival have come up trumps with a series of fantastic free activities and events for little ones.

100 Years of Roald Dahl: Discovery Trail
To mark 100 years since Roald Dahl’s birth, take part in our phizz-whizzing quiz inspired by characters like the BFG, Willy Wonka and Matilda. Pick up your entry form at the Dean Close marquee.
Dream Jars and more
Capture your dream in a jar or find out what your Roald Dahl character name is. Delumptious!
Family Activity Weekends
Saturdays and Sundays (8/9 and 15/16 October)
11am–2pm, Imperial Square and Waterstones Children’s Hideaway
Storytelling, face painting, musicians, character meet and greet, things to make and take – join us for our family activity days in Imperial Square on both Festival weekends. Come dressed as your favourite character and join in our fancy dress parade and prize-giving – see below for the themes per day:

Winnie the Pooh Join us to explore The Hundred Acre Wood, build a den, play Pooh Sticks or pin Eeyore’s tail back on. |

Wizards and Witches Come along to our magic school, solve the riddles and look out for a stilt walking wizard. |
Superheroes Test your powers, see how far your hero can fly and learn the tricks of the superhero trade. |

The Huddle, Montpellier Gardens
Pre-schoolers and their families can enjoy action-packed story sessions with our professional story-tellers and authors, featuring favourite picture books and imaginative play.
Waterstones Children’s Hideaway
Open 9.30am–6pm throughout the Festival
Waterstones Tent, Imperial Gardens
Pop in to see the Book Doctor, make book bunting, try the book quiz and other free activities.
