Bars, Cafes and Restaurants opening soon in Cheltenham 🍴

This article was first published in 2016 ahead of what seemed like an unusual flurry of new bars and restaurants opening in Cheltenham but it seems like the trend for businesses opening up eateries in our beautiful town isn’t going anywhere (no complaints here).   As a result we thought this would be better as just a rolling article that we’ll keep updated as and when new places and info on openings get announced.



Holee Cow Hamburgers

Where? Clarence Street near Superdry
When? November 2017
What to expect: An independent gourmet burger restaurant using local beef and super-fresh produce.

When? Unknown
What to expect:  Cheltenham’s Ivy seems likely to follow the blueprint of their other UK ‘Grill & Brasserie’ restaurants (there’s one in Bristol).  ‘Extensive all-day menus featuring the best of modern British dishes in a relaxed dining atmosphere’.  View the Bristol menu here

Giggling Squid

Where? Montpellier
When? Early 2018
What to expect: “Staggeringly good Thai food prepared by master Thai chefs. Serving a super popular tapas menu at lunch with an extensive menu in the evenings.”

What to expect: A classier ‘Subway for burgers’ with 15 free toppings to choose from. Mr Mulligan’s Restaurant

Where? The Brewery Quarter
When? 7th October 2017
What to expect: You’ll find a themed menu with treats for the whole family. The Lost World Menu in Stevenage includes Ice Age Sundaes, amazing milkshakes, hot dogs and Nachos, however this out of the world dining experience will leave you mesmerised. Operating a full menu, this unique restaurant will have a range of great dishes including a range of “lost World Burgers” and the family favourites.

The Suffolk Arms

What to expect: Cheltenham’s new modern local. A great range of draught beers + cask ales, artisan gin + delicious stonebaked pizza.

What to expect: Not technically new, but re-opening after a fire earlier in 2016 the revamped Tavern will include ‘a fresh new look, dirty menus and a few suprises along the way’.
