Family Events and Activities

Saturday and Sunday

The Kings Head in Bishops Cleeve is holding a cider, wine and music festival with a bouncy castle and face-painting for the kids.  Find out more

There’s an extra layer of excitement for visitors to the Lido this weekend with the British Water Polo Championships finals promising two days of brilliant sporting entertainment on Saturday and Sunday. Matches will be played from 1pm on Saturday; from 10am on Sunday.  Pool is still open to the public for swimming.  Find out more

As usual there’s a car boot bonanza with sales taking place at Southam and the Star College.

The discounted film showing at Cineworld Movies for Juniors this weekend is the LEGO Batman Movie, on Friday to Sunday. Find out more

Primrose Vale has the first strawberries of the season ready to pick.  Head along and make at day of it at the cafe and play area.  Find out more

Saturday

The London Inn is holding a Peppa Pig Garden Party with a bouncy castle, face-painting and a tea party.  Find out more

Elmer Elephant fans should head along to Cheltenham Children’s Library on Saturday for their Elmer celebration.  A free event with crafts and colouring.  Find out more

There’s a free girls football festival taking place Saturday with FA coaches on hand running drills and games.  Find out more

The Cheese Rollers in Shurdington is holding a mini-sports day with fun activities for the kids ahead of Monday’s infamous event.  Find out more

Cheltenham Science Centre is open Saturday 10am – 4pm. Entry is £2 (under 4s are free) Find out more

Sunday

Pop along to Sudeley Castle on Sunday for a whole heap of family fun with bubbles, a punch and judy show, bouncy castle and circus skills.  The entertainment is included in the normal ticket price.  Find out more

The last Sunday of every month the Wilson hold Arty Sundays.  3 hours of crafts for £2 per person (under 3s go free).  Find out more

The Children’s Festival is back with free pop up activities around town to get kids creating, thinking and moving.  Find out more.

Monday

Your bank holiday inflatable fix takes comes courtesy of the Saracens Fun Day.  Stalls, inflatables, beat-the-goalie and more.  (Please note this will be cancelled if the weather is bad).  Find out more

It’s the big one…. The May Suffolks’ Street Fair takes place on Monday.  Expect street performers, live music, boutique stalls, artisan food and gifts, and an incredible atmosphere plus the chance to ‘Fill a Bag for a Fiver’ at Suffolks’ boutique ReVamp in support of Maggies.  Find out more

There are still tickets available for Shark in the Park at Cheltenham Town Hall.  A fin-tastic, family musical.  £11 a ticket.  Find out more

Gloucestershire’s wackiest event, the Cheese Rolling takes place on bank holiday Monday.  4 downhill races, 3 mens 1 womens, and a mixture of not so dangerous uphill races, under 14s and adults, who dares wins.  Visit the Facebook Event Page for more

For the Grown Ups

Friday and Saturday Night 5- 11pm The Bottle of Sauce are teaming up with Sibling Gin to bring you some seriously slick gin cocktails from their pop-up garden bar. Saturday and Sunday all day: The Swan Garden Party.  Come and celebrate Spring! Cotswold Country Park and Beach – The spruced-up Park and Beach at Cotswold Water Park (nr Cirencester) opens Friday 26th for summer with the brand new AquaVenture course.  Find out more
